A massive, windswept congratulations to our SMT who not only took on the Three Peaks Challenge, but also took on the notorious Yorkshire Weather; battling through torrential rain, hailstones, high speed winds and steep paths that you could have sworn were rivers, to raise an incredible £10k for Round Table Children’s Wish.
The gauntlet had been laid to complete the 24-mile challenge, dubbed “marathon in the mountains” in just 12 hours, a time that did not account for the adverse weather conditions which the team faced. But after being soaked to the bone, faces being pelted with hailstones, numb hands and shoes that will never smell the same again – the team achieved the walk in an astonishing 13 hours. We couldn’t be prouder!
To date the team have raised an incredible £10k – that’s 200% of the initial target. RTCW are a small charity who grant wishes for children between the ages of 4-17 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or terminal illness. The aim of the charity is to provide children with a chance to have a moment of relief and respite away from their illness to just enjoy a special treat or experience.
The money raised from this challenge will grant multiple children their wishes – something that brought the team the warm feeling that they needed whilst fighting through the awful weather.
The fundraising page will be open for a little while longer if you would like to donate to this amazing cause; click here to visit our page: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TotalSecurityProtection
